Dr Mark Hardy: Dr Mark Hardy is an addiction specialist as well as the Medical Director and a member of the Medical Advisory board at CA clinics. He has had a deep interest in the field of toxicology, mental illnesses and is especially passionate about the management of addiction in Australia which led him to delve into the research of medicinal cannabis as a treatment in the area of chronic and mental illnesses. Through this interest and training, he has prescribed medicinal cannabinoids as a treatment for several mental illnesses following the NSW and National guidelines. Looking into the future, Dr Mark Hardy hopes to break the taboo of medicinal cannabis as a treatment by addressing the numerous benefits that cannabis therapy has on patients through research.
Lucy Haslam: Lucy Haslam, a retired nurse is now an activist and policy-changer in regards to legalizing Medicinal Cannabis in Australia. In 2014, Lucy co-founded along with her late son Dan who had experienced the pain relief cannabis provided, ‘United in Compassion’- an advocacy body in charge of helping bring about the 2016 legislative changes that made cultivation of cannabis for medical and research purposes useful. The organization’s primary mission is to advocate for safe, effective and favorable use of medicinal cannabis for suffering patients. Lucy also has many other accomplishments including being founder of the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Alliance and being an advisory board member for the NSW Government Medicinal Cannabis Center for Research and Innovation; all of these allowing her the hope to achieve better access to cannabis for medical treatment in Australia.
